Elliot goes camping

This past weekend we loaded up our vintage camping trailer, Coby, Elliot,  and ourselves and drove to the Chiricahua mountains for Jason's annual family reunion in Pinery Canyon.  It was Elliot's debut to most of that side of the family and he was greeted with love and enthusiasm!  He got passed around from cousin to second cousin to aunt to great aunt and back again.  He did great!  We had nearly perfect weather and a great rainstorm on the last night.  We enjoyed it from the waterproof coziness of our sweet trailer.  Elliot was a super camping champ which doesn't surprise us since he seems to be alot like his daddy when it comes to the outdoors. Elliot is starting to smile at just about anything and is way more interested in his toys or anything that makes noise.  He goes back to the doctor tomorrow for a 2 month check-up and his first shots.  Wish us luck...

Elliot @ 8 weeks

We spent the past four days up on Mt. Lemmon!  It was chilly, rainy,  foggy, and perfect!  We relaxed, ate good food, laughed with friends and enjoyed the weather.  This weekend we are going to Jason's annual family reunion.  We are taking our little camping trailer and "camping" out for two nights.  Wish us luck, should be cozy with the three of us in our little trailer...

Elliot @ 7 weeks

Life with Elliot is always unpredictable.  You never know when he might smile at you, spit up on you, fall asleep on your chest, have a blow-out poop, coo and gurgle at the sound of your voice, or scream for some unidentifiable reason.  We love every minute of it!  Elliot and I have been going to the mom and baby group that my mom teaches at the birth center and we are meeting some other moms with babies that are elliot's age.  We look forward to it every week...our big outing in the middle of the day,  100 degree heat, and it's worth it!  We are heading up to Mt. Lemmon this weekend for some much needed elevation change and relaxation.  Last Sunday, we had dinner at Jenny and Gawain's.  They have been doing a major renovation/addition and it's finally done enough to live in and absolutely worth the wait!!! We were able to catch some cute cousin moments...the kids are so amazing with elliot!
love to all,

Elliot Parties!

hello all...
Elliot had a big week...two parties in one day, and he did great!  He went to a baby shower for our friend sara and then a family and friends gathering for Julia's 30th birthday!!!  Elliot got dressed up for the first time in cargo shorts and a orange checkered shirt.  So cute!  He is beginning to smile more and now knows the sounds of our voices.  It's amazing, he's amazing!
hope everyone is having a fabulous summer!

elliot @ 6 weeks

hello everyone!
We can't believe that our darling boy is 6 weeks old! It's true that time flies!  Elliot had his first bottle with daddy, first visit to his pediatrician, and (sadly) his last visit to our amazing midwife Lisa!  She follows both of us for the first 6 weeks and was pleased to send us on with nothing but positive things to say.  Elliot weighed in at 10lbs 5oz and is now 22 inches long.  He is becoming more aware of his world and beginning to notice that there is life beyond the boob!  He has started cooing and gooing and lots of other cute-ings.  Elliot and I went to the mom and baby group that my mom teaches at the birth center.  He loved being around all the other babies and it sure was nice to visit with other moms!  None of them think I'm crazy when I go on and on about spit-up and baby poop (my two fave topics)!
Sending love out to all of you...

Elliot @ 5 weeks

Elliot is now 5 weeks!  He celebrated by losing most of the hair on top of his head.  We think he used that hair to grow his eyebrows, which are finally coming in!  We had a lovely visit with our dear friend Clare, who is visiting from San Francisco.  I was Clare's nanny while she was growing up and we have remained very close since then.  It was wonderful to see the full circle event of her holding MY baby (the first baby she's ever held!).  Here's a few more pics of what life is like around here...lots of snuggling  and staring.  It's too hot to go outside, we might as well snuggle in!
